This Week in Swing – How we Started

This Week in Swing NYC / Eileen’s Lindy Blog started as an email in 2008. A group of Eileen’s swing dancing friends wanted to coordinate going out together, so she sent out an email. Those friends told two friends and so on… until it was suggested that Eileen create a blog.  This blog is used by locals and visitors coming to NYC from around the globe.

The goal of this blog is to help promote the swing dance community and be a resource to help keep it thriving.  Through the pandemic, it kept going to help keep the community connected when online events were happening and support the dance teachers and musicians in our community through tough times.

This site is agnostic and not affiliated with any studio, venue, or producing organization.
